How you can use the Property Price Register

Have you heard of the Residential Property Price Register?

This is produced by our regulatory body the PRSA (Property Services Regulatory Authority) and includes Date of Sale, Price and Address of all residential properties purchased in Ireland since 2010.

It is not a wish list of what a seller wants to get or an auctioneer’s estimate but in fact drawn from stamp duty data from the Revenue Commissioners.

For sellers it is an incredibly useful resource which give them an idea of what is realistic to expect by comparing similar properties in similar locations.

For buyers it can make the process easier when making offers as it indicates what is realistic to pay for comparable properties.

The IPAV (Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers) have also announced that they plan to include the BER with the sale details.
